This spring, if you are not able to head out to the English fields, bring the English fields to your home instead. A harvest of Jo Malone English Fields collection of five limited edition fragrances will fill your spring with much delight.

When you look at the picture, what comes to your mind? Can you imagine yourself skipping across the golden fields? Dancing happily to the hum of crickets, buzz of bees and breath in the fresh air? The air that smell of fresh flowers and rich precious grains? If you sprinkle these five captivating scents today, trust me, your mind will bring you to the English Fields.

As a perfumer, I love to be surprised – and English Fields is unexpected territory! To have cereals and grains as the main focus is a first to me. It’s somewhere in perfumery I have never been before. – Mathilde Bijaoui, Master Perfumer

After using these perfumes for almost a month, these fragrances captivated many senses of mine. It’s funny how my nose captured specific scent out of each bottle. Some notes are stronger than another and some lingered in my mind for hours yet some didn’t sit too well on me. Apart from the freshness of these scents, the packaging is on point! They’re bottled in ceramic bottles and those pastel colors are just pleasing to the eyes.

Let’s discover the fragrance from the Jo Malone English Fields Collection.

Poppy & Barley

Jo Malone London says: Rich red poppies dancing in the wind. Violet flowers, alive with color. Fruity with blackcurrant. Cocooned by barley and bran. Softened with powdery notes of white musk.
Yen says: Definitely fruity and I picked up the powdery white musk too. I categorize this as a citrus scent with a powdery finish. On casual days, this one is my go-to fragrance.

Primrose & Rye

Jo Malone London says: Rolling fields dotted with primroses. Swaying softly on a spring breeze. Warmed by golden corn. Brightened by mimosa. On an addictive base of rye and vanilla, filled with sunshine.
Yen says: This one took me by surprise the most. Vanilla is definitely not one of my favorite scent but in this combination, I loved it! This is a very sweet scent. In fact, this became my utmost favorite among the five fragrances. Hence, I travelled with it recently.

Oat & Cornflower

Jo Malone London says: Wholesome oats gathered from the field, fit for a hearty feast. Warm and delicious. Enlivened by vivid blue cornflowers and a hint of hazelnut. Complemented by an elegant vetiver base.
Yen says: Once I sprayed this on my neck, I am able to pick up the scent of hazelnut immediately. It has a hint of bitterness yet warm. This one stayed the longest on me. It lasted more than 6 hours.

Honey & Crocus

Jo Malone London says: Mouth-watering honey, fresh from the beehive. Blended with the bright bloom of crocuses and English Lavender. Sweetened with a dash of almond milk.
Yen says: I picked up the scent of almond milk immediately. Personally, I’m not too fond of almond milk, but I let the fragrance sit for a while. To my surprise, I could slowly smell the sweetness from the scent.

Green Wheat & Meadowsweet

Jo Malone London says: An English field at dawn, full of the joys of spring. Filled with young, green wheat. Crisp and fresh. Balanced with a zesty twist of grapefruit. Mingled with soft, white notes of meadowsweet.
Yen says: The scents itself makes me want to go for a picnic at the fields. It’s refreshing and has a sweet ending. I don’t consider myself a morning person but using this in the morning, definitely awakened my senses and makes me happy. Felt like I had a fresh start.

Scent and flavors are very subjective and personal. These notes lingered in me very differently compared to you. I would advise that you walk into a Jo Malone London store to try out English Fields Collection today. It’s selling at RM280 for each 30ml Cologne. Lastly, these scent definitely brought my mind back to Hampshire, England, where I saw the open English fields, so fresh and crisp. All I wanted to do was to run through these fields with wide open arms, so happily and carefree. Glad I did.
