Jo Malone London Summer Fete

Jo Malone London Summer Fete

Summer is here! Summer time is full of fun out in the sun, vibrant and a lot of day dreaming on the hammock. Or at least that’s what is in my mind because summer here in Malaysia is no fun because we are back to yet another full lockdown.

Well, it doesn’t mean that I cannot celebrate the summer with these Jo Malone London summer fete and fun limited edition collection. This limited edition collection from Jo Malone London is inspired by nostalgic scenes and marmalade dreams. In fact, I took a chance by getting a couple of them because I can’t go to the mall to try all of them. Which one did I get? I’ll share it with you here.

“Using seasonal fruits to create homemade preserves that you can gift to family and friends seems like such a quintessentially British pastime.”

Celine Roux, Global Head of Fragrance

TANGY RHUBARB

Tangy Rhubarb
Tangy Rhubarb

The unmistakable tang of unruly rhubarb plucked from the overgrown garden. Its bright and striking stems fill the bustling kitchen. Rhubarb brings a characterful heart to this eccentric fragrance, complemented by zesty orange and an elegant note of cedarwood.

NOTES: Rhubarb (top note), Orange (heart note), Cedarwood (base note)

PERSONAL NOTE
When I first saw the notes in Tangy Rhubarb, I told myself I’m going to like this combination, fresh and elegant. It suits and described me best so I got a bottle of Tangy Rhubarb! This scent has that citrus yet ruggedness in it. Men who like zesty fresh scent would love this too.

ROSE BLUSH

Rose Blush

Delicate rose petals suspended in a delectable jelly. The charm of these blushing pink petals inspires a prized preserve. Vibrant basil and a juicy note of lychee add a modern twist to this pretty floral scent, cocooned in the comforting embrace of white musk.

NOTES: Basil Grand Vert (top note), Rose (heart note), White Musk (base note)

ORANGE PEEL

Orange Peel
Orange Peel

Marmalade making is a popular British tradition. Orange peel is usually one of the ingredient used and as it simmers on the stove, its zesty aroma and bitter bite tantalising the senses. Warm woods are blended with orange to create a refined, golden fragrance. Quirky natural rhubarb adds an enticing appeal to this fresh take on the classic marmalade.

NOTES: Orange Peel (top note), Orange Bigarade (heart note), Cashmere Wood (base note)

PERSONAL NOTE
Guess what? Of course I got this one too because it’s Orange Peel. It’s in the citrus family! My love for anything citrus never ends. Surprisingly this one is on the sweet side and not zesty like an orange peel, literally. So how do I get that zesty citrus and sweet scent? Combine Tangy Rhubarb with Orange Peel. I’m not a morning person but combining both makes me love mornings a whole lot more now.

ELDERFLOWER CORDIAL

Elderflower Cordial
Elderflower Cordial

Capturing the scent of delicate elderflower buds harvested from the hedgerows on a cloudless morning. The soft, powdery appeal of these tiny white flowers inspire a very British recipe. Complemented by notes of hawthorn and tart, summer-green gooseberries.

NOTES: Gooseberry (top note), Elderflower (heart note), Dried Fruits (base note)

BLACKBERRY & BAY

Blackberry & Bay
Blackberry & Bay

All four fragrances above pair perfectly with Jo Malone London’s popular fruity scent, Blackberry & Bay. The Blackberry & Bay has a burst of deep, tart blackberry juice, blending with a fresh note of just-gathered bay and brambly woods. So vibrant and fresh.

NOTES: Blackberry (top note), Bay Leaves (heart note), Cedarwood (base note)

I’ve always appreciate Jo Malone London fragrances due to its relation to the nature and ingredients that they used, such as fruits, greens and flowers. Do keep in mind that on it’s own, one or two spritz of the fragrance can hardly last more than 4 hours on me. Well, Jo Malone London has always preached about layering. By doing that, the scent on you will last longer.

Well, since I can’t travel to England or anywhere for my summer holiday, I can at least be festive and jolly with Jo Malone London summer fete here. This is the closest I can get. How about you? Have you tried this Brit Collection by Jo Malone London?
