Top 5 Moisturisers for Combination Skin

by

Applying moisturiser is an important step in my daily skincare routine. Choosing and applying the right moisturiser for my skin is crucial. Hence, after trying quite a few in the market, these are the top 5 moisturisers for combination skin I would highly recommend.

TATCHA – LUMINOUS DEWY SKIN NIGHT CONCENTRATE

This one feels like water and kept my skin so hydrated. The look of it makes me think of jelly or tofu & it does feels like that on the skin too. Do not mistake the jelly to be a lightweight moisturiser and think that it isn’t sufficient for the skin. It sinks in comfortably on mine and it doesn’t feel sticky after.

I use it at as a night cream and the next day my skin felt refreshed and hydrated. This is an ultra-hydrating concentrate of botanical oils and extracts that melts into the skin. It combats dryness, fine lines and dehydrated skin. I love it that it isn’t tested on animal as well.

TATCHA – THE DEWY SKIN CREAM

Another one of my favourite from Tatcha. Texture wise, the Dewy Skin Cream is in fact creamier & richer than the Luminous Dewy Skin Night Concentrate. I apply this in my morning routine. The ingredient in this moisturiser is packed with super-food such as green tea, rice and algae.

This moisturiser does hydrate, plump up my skin and give radiance to my skin. It can get oily if you scoop too much. So, do watch the amount when scooping. Your skin will glow when you add it together with the Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist, especially after a HIFU Treatment. Yes, I am a Tatcha fan! What can I say?

DR. BARBARA STURM – FACE CREAM

I can tell you that this one gives La Mer a run for their money. YES, It IS that good. What’s better is that this product is vegan, cruelty-free and gluten-free. This is one of my very few luxury go-to skincare brand because they do not test on animals and they can be just as good or even better than those products that are still testing on animals.

This cream is definitely rich and I must warn you that you must really have concern with ageing or your skin show signs of ageing, such as loss of firmness and elasticity, fine lines, wrinkles, dullness and uneven texture to use this cream. If not, you might have issues, such as breakouts, due to the richness of the cream. The ingredient, Purslane – a strong antioxidant that stimulates the body and supports skin health and rejuvenation. This moisturiser kept my skin hydrated and radiant. I’m completely satisfied with it.

If you don’t mind splurging on a moisturiser and can afford it, I would highly recommend this one.

BOBBI BROWN – VITAMIN ENRICHED FACE BASE PRIMING MOISTURIZER

Freshness & hydration in a clear bottle. That explains it all. To be honest, this was a sponsored product but I fell in love with it and had since emptied a couple of jars along the way.

Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base Priming Mosturizer is meant to be a cream you use before applying foundation so that your makeup would have a dewy finish. However, it also has moisturising benefits, hence it’s the best of both worlds. I used it primarily as a morning moisturiser because I just love the scent of grapefruit. It’s so fresh and gave me this uplifting mood, like a quick “pick-me-up” feeling. It contains shea butter with vitamins B, C, and E. Therefore, it is great as a moisturiser itself.

CLARINS – SUPER RESTORATIVE DAY

Tried this one for the first time and I would say it’s good enough to be placed under my list of top 5 moisturisers for combination skin. For some reason, I thought this jar would give that uplifting scent kind of vibe but no, it has no grapefruit or any of those citrus scents. Putting aside that first impression scent, the moisturiser does its job. The scent is pleasant as well.

It hydrates my combination skin and wasn’t too creamy, where it would leave that sort of sticky and oily residue. If you want a more emollient moisturiser for the night, give the Super Restorative Night Cream a try.

All the above are my top 5 moisturisers for combination skin which I would highly recommend it to anyone in a heart beat. All of it are empty bottles now and I had replenished quite a few of them ever since. Which of the above have you tried? Are they in your favourite list too?
