Dior Oblique Canvas was first designed by Marc Bohan in 1967. Now, Maria Grazia Chiuri continues to embrace this graphic motif. She reinterpreted it in a series of accessories for the Autumn-Winter 2018-2019 Collection.

You can find these graphic motif on some bags, scarves and even shoes. The jacquard weave can be found on The Saddle, Miss Dior and Dior Addict bags, as well as the new Diorquake Clutch. The same design can be found on the famous Dior Book Tote bag. It might not look like much but The Dior Book Totebag’s casual allure required thirty seven hours of meticulous embroidery. Additionally, it also requires more than one and a half million stitches to reproduce the hypnotic design. That’s some detailing work.
Dior scarves
On other accessories such as The Mitzah, also employs this emblematic motif as a print. This iconic house scarf was named for Mitzah Bricard, a muse of Christian Dior back in the days. The motif also appears on the clogs that provide the finishing touch for today’s liberated woman.
As for the color choices, this season, the Dior Oblique Canvas comes in more shades that is deep blue, deep amaranth, green and brown.
I was never one that lean towards motif or logo printed designs when it comes to accessories. What did they say? Never say never. Now, I’m starting to love this graphic motif especially on The Dior Book Tote bag and that huge Messenger bag.
