Kerastasé New Invention – Discipline

by
Kerastasé Discipline Range

When Kerastasé shared with me their new range of products called Discipline, I though it was a sign for me to do something with my hair. In the beauty area, hair has gotten the least attention. I dreaded washing my hair because it takes a lot of time to wash and blow-dry, but it looks great and full of volume after. That will only last for about 8 hours before it looses its volume and becomes greasy. Hence, you can see that my hair gets shorter every time I go to the salon, so it’s easier to manage. Yet, my hair still takes a back seat every time when it comes to beauty routines. In actual fact, I think hair should be the priority because it can change a person’s look immediately, especially after a good haircut or perm or color. Well, it is also every woman’s dream to have beautiful, supple, fluid and perfectly smooth hair, don’t you think?

I have my fair share of perming and colouring and I think it’s time to give it some TLC. Guess Kerastasé came at the right time and it was truly a blessing! If you ask Kerastasé how do you manage an unruly and frizzy hair? The answer would be… DISCIPLINE!

Here comes my assessment after using it for a week:

Shampoo

1. Great scent and leaning towards the sweet side.
2. Bain Fluideliste works better for sensitised hairstyle while Bain Fluideliste Sulfate Free is best recommended for damage locks. I should use the one with Sulfate Free, but it doesn’t lather as much. Therefore, I still prefer Bain Fluideliste.

Left – Conditioner // Right – Masque

3. A small amount of conditioner was sufficient for my hair.
4. I used the masque twice a week, as I’ve damage ends. I realised that my hair wasn’t as frizzy after a week. I’m going to try to use the masque as a conditioner replacement instead, as my hair definitely needs more moisture and repair.

Leave-in Primer (source)

5. The leave-in primer (Keratine Thermique) left my hair moisturised and weightless. I used about a penny or 10 cents size before blow dry and it was sufficient.
6. I realised blow drying takes shorter than usual and I’m not kidding! It’s not because I had shorter hair, but I’m comparing the blow dry time before and after Kerastasé Discipline. My hair’s usually limp by the end of the day but this week it stayed fresh till the next day.

7. The only thing I wish is that the packaging for the shampoo and conditioner was different. I wish the bottle is a “twist-and-squeeze” type instead of an on/off cap. It gets a little messy, especially when my palms are wet and I still had to deal with the cap.

8. Salon Treatment – Since I’ve tried this for a week and really love the quality of these products, I’m going to visit a salon and give my hair a well deserve treat. It’s also a good thing to leave the tedious job to the expert. They have treatment machines that would probably provide a better “Discipline” to my hair =)
