5 Reasons I Chose Travel Recommends

Hong Kong With Travel Recommends

Recently, I travelled to Hong Kong and this time around, I packed an essential item called Travel Recommends 4G pocket wifi. As a blogger and traveler, I love to share my travel experiences. Also, being in a foreign land, the ability to stay connected online, can be a life saver too. There are quite a few pocket wifi companies around town, but here are 5 reasons why I chose Travel Recommends:

1. Convenient

When I booked my hotel and plane tickets, I ordered Travel Recommends pocket wifi at the same time. All I need to do was to visit their website (here) and reserve a router. Reservation is required at least 5 working days before your travel date. They would charge RM$200 for the deposit, but it’s refundable within 3-4 working days, when the item is  returned by the return date. For convenience sake, I had them delivered the router to my home. After my travel, I dropped it off at the designated counter in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Location here)

2. Lowest Price In The Market

Rental Rates
I surveyed a few routers rental and realized that they offered one of the lowest price in the market. It is only RM19 a day to use in Hong Kong! I rented it for 4 days, so that’s only RM76 which is way cheaper than my data roaming via my cell phone company. Usage was unlimited and there was no hidden charges besides the RM19 per day.

3. Easy To Use

Logging On To Router

The pocket wifi was fully charged when it was delivered to me. Once I arrived in Hong Kong, I switched it on, flip the router to the back so that I can key the password and voila, I’m connected! I placed it in my bag and carried it wherever I go the entire time I was in Hong Kong. A full charge lasted me about 6 hours.

4. It Is A 4G Router

I don’t know a whole lot about technical stuff, but I know that 4G is faster than 3G. Once I arrived at my destination, I have the habit of informing my family members that I had arrived safely when I land. The only way to get connected is through a pocket wifi or data roaming. This one was a bliss! In the city, it can get a little spotty due to the tall buildings at every corner in Hong Kong. The connection does slow down a little, but it still managed to get us to all our food destinations. Also, it never failed to update all my Snapchat and Instagram pictures. *smiles*

5. Great Service

I travelled on Sunday and I requested to have it delivered on a Saturday, but since that particular Saturday was a public holiday, they sent it on Friday instead. They called and make sure the delivery information was correct before they delivered it. I also requested them to deliver it at a certain time, and they did. When I returned the router at their counter in the airport, the staff that attended to me was very friendly. He asked if I was satisfied and if I encountered any issues during my travel with the router. Again, he ensured that if all is good, the deposit will be refunded in 3-4 working days. That’s what I call customer service.

Hong Kong

I’m a very satisfied customer. Will I rent it again the next time I travel? That’s for sure!
