Our hair is exposed to so many elements daily. From the sun, to hair dryers or curlers, to coloring products and more. These elements harm our hair without us knowing and without proper care, there will be further damages. In fact, it is not that tough to show some TLC to your hair. Let me share 3 ways to save your hair from further damage:

Red Hair

1. FIND THE RIGHT SALON

This is VERY important, as it will be your first step to healthier hair. On Monday, I paid a visit to Toni & Guy Bangsar to have my hair re-colored. I love my hair in red and would love to stick to that color. This time around, they re-colored my hair ombré red and added a new potion called Olaplex. If you’re wondering what this Olaplex is all about, let me tell you, it’s definitely a breakthrough product created for salons and home care! It comes in 3 parts (No.1, No2 & No.3) and salons use the first 2 parts for either coloring and texture (re-bonding, perming, etc). Zuray, the Colorist, used No.1 (Olaplex Bond Multiplier) to mix into the color, which is to strengthen the bond of my hair. After rinsing off the color, Zuray applied No.2 (Bond Protector) to reduce breakage and damages. By coloring and exposing my hair to all the heat elements, it will be weaken and loose its bond. Olaplex is used to help strengthen the bond of your hair and make it look healthier. I’ve read about another hairstylist who uses Olaplex to curl hair as well. Read more about it here.

Olaplex Home Care
2. THE RIGHT HOME CARE
As I mentioned earlier, Olaplex No.3 (Hair Perfector) is to be used at home once a week. Since I washed my hair at home today, I applied about a tablespoon of No.3 onto my wet hair and rubbed it evenly all over. I kept it on for about 20 minutes and wrapped it with a towel. I  rinsed it after, and then shampooed and conditioned my hair like usual. Usually, I would apply some serum on my damp hair before blow drying it with a brush, so it’ll be easier to comb, but this time, I didn’t, and it’s just as easy! I’m aware that it’s time consuming, but it’s only a once a week. Hey, good things don’t come easy right?
Label M Styling Tool
3. USE A GOOD HAIR STYLING TOOL
Last, but not least, this is a must-have for many women. What I meant by a good hair styling tool, is a hair curler which is made of tourmaline, ceramic coated tong such as this one from Label M. The one I’m using is the Advanced Pro Curling Tong in 28mm. It heats up in only 10 seconds. It’s ION negative, so it’ll be frizz-free. Using heat hair styling tools can be damaging to your hair, but little perks and advanced technology like these will help to minimize damages.
