Happy 50th Singapore!

by
I was in Singapore recently for a few days before I left to attend a wedding in  China. I’ve always loved the cleanliness, organised and fun (loads of shopping) in Singapore. This time around, I was in Marina Bay Sands and caught a glimpse of a beautiful sunset.

On a personal note, this trip was kind of a bittersweet one. I saw beautiful lights being decorated at the airport and city centre. I saw many signs showing that roads were being closed on Saturday for practices and the whole country is getting ready to celebrate their 50 years of independence on August 15. I feel the vibe and am so happy for Singapore’s growth and success throughout their 50 years. On the other side, I couldn’t help but to feel sad for my country. Lately there’s loads of shit going on with our politics and it isn’t helping the country’s growth at all. It felt like we took a step forward and two steps back. The saddest is knowing that Malaysia and Singapore was one back then and they were called Malaya.

Oh well, let’s just be happy for someone else’s success than to sulk for our failure right? Learn from the best and hopefully we could be better. Let’s be happy for Singapore and cheers to SG50 (Singapore turns 50 this year)!! If you have a chance, do pay a visit. It’s a nice place for a relaxing holiday. If you’re a Singaporean or have been to Singapore, tell me what do you like about Singapore? =)
