Florence, Italy

by
Let me take you to Florence today. I mean through my pictures =) After Venice, we took a train to Florence. This trip happened in November last year. To be precise, it was actually before Thanksgiving. So yea, it was way delayed in sharing with you. Sorry…I got distracted with so many things. *gulp* Now it’s already end of February!
This is my very first time in Florence. Since I’ve been to a few places in Italy, such as Milan, Rome and Venice, my bf thought it would be nice to show me Florence too. In comparison to Milan and Rome, Florence is rather small. There isn’t as many popular spots besides the huge church called Cathedral di Santa Maria Del Fiore ( Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Flower ). Till today, it remains the largest brick dome ever constructed.

The beautiful dome of the Church

To many fashionistas like you and me, we know that the famous retailer Luisaviaroma, held the fashion event called FIRENZE4EVER here every year. So Florence is also home for few fashionable names such as Salvatore Ferragamo, Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, Stefano Ricci and Emilio Pucci.

Let me show you some pictures and hope you’ll enjoy it. Have you been to Florence?

We decided to climb up to the dome and this is the view from the top.
Obviously the people who wrote on the wall did not understand Italian nor English.
A panoramic view from the top of the Cathedral
By the time I climbed to the top of the Cathedral, I’m really hot! The cardigan needs to be off.
Another icon in Florence is this statue of course. The Statue of King David. The famous creation of Michaelangelo. It’s now standing tall in Galeria dell’Accademia.
For bragging rights. I’ve seen the famous statue of King David by Michaelangelo! =D
Palazzo Vecchio at night. This is the town hall of Florence.
Ponte Vecchio which also means Old Bridge. This was one bridge which the German did not destroy during WWII and it remain operating till today.
I have to have gelato when in Italy. How can one not? I had the lime flavor =)
The famous shopping area in Florence.
Cathedral di Santa Maria Del Fiore by night. Such classic beauty =)
