Review – Chanel VS Burberry

by
As I was about to chuck this bottle of Chanel Mat Lumiere Foundation, I decided to take one last picture of it and share my two cents worth about these products. I’ve heard the rave about Burberry’s makeup when it first launched. It got me curious and so when I was shopping at Nordstrom one day, I decided to purchase this Burberry Velvet Foundation and gave it a try.
There’s pros and cons to both but it all depends on what I really need it for. So what’s my verdict?
Chanel
Pros:
1. Full coverage and the liquid is thick.
2. Covers almost 70% of the imperfection even before applying concealer.
2. Long lasting – It can last me for the whole day without feeling all-caked-up. I have oily T-Zone and after 4 hours of application, it will get greasy. How greasy? Well, I can fry an egg if I use a pan to wipe my face.
3. Great holding power – It didn’t remove my make-up at all even when I dab my greasy face with a tissue. That’s how good this Chanel Foundation can hold the make up.
4. Great for studio and indoor photography type of make up.Cons:
1. A little too thick for day make-up.
2. If you travel with this, the glass bottle might weight a little more.

Burberry
Pros:
1. Comparing to Chanel, this one is not as thick.
2. Velvety and matte texture. Glides on my skin really well.
3. Works great on combination skin.,
4. Great day-to-day foundation. It feels like your 2nd skin.
5. Oil-free
6. The bottle is made of plastic so it’s really light. Great for travels.
Cons:
1. Not as hydrating for dry skin. Chanel’s Foundation will be a better option.
2. Not as full coverage comparing to Chanel. Only covers about 50% of imperfections. I would still need concealer to cover imperfections eg, acne, dark circles and pigmentation.*These are all based on my own opinion. Products are not sponsored.
