Celebrating Chinese New Year & Iconemesis Giveaway

by

Today in the Lunar Calendar, the Chinese ushered in a new year. It is a huge celebration for the Chinese and the most common outfit is a Cheongsum for the ladies. Cheongsum is a traditional dress and even till today, many ladies in China will still wear it on this special occasion.

What do we do on this day? Well, we try to look our best and visit our families. The married will give the singles something called red packets (in mandarin it is call Hong Bao), of course I’m still getting it from my parents. In the olden days, red packets are very important for the young ones. It is a sign of protection towards the evil spirit and till today, this legend is still passed on, but it is mainly for good riddance now.
During this day, the phone comes in handy too. We make and receive lots of calls and texts from family and friends. They’re mainly well wishes. I need to look my best and so does my phone. Hence I used the pretty Iconemesis cover for my iPhone. Chinese New Year is not only about receiving, but giving as well. So, I’m teaming up with Iconemesis to give away (international) an iPhone cover to one lucky person. It is definitely generous of Iconemesis to let you choose a cover that you like.
In the year of Horse, I’m wishing you great health and wealth. May this year bring you much joy and good luck. Enter the giveaway now and you may start the Lunar year by being the lucky one! =)
